Scope
This page can tell you what is actually present on this site and where to find outside help. It cannot switch on any control over your gambling, because no such control exists here. Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are all things a person sets up inside an account at a gambling operator. This site has no account, no form and no server that could process one, so nothing published on this page can turn a control on, check its status or enforce it. If you are looking for that kind of setting, it lives at the destination you reach after following an operator link, not here.
In the same way, nobody's age is checked on this site and no gambling happens on it. Any age check takes place at the destination, after you leave. There is no advertising or behavioural profiling network built into these pages, so nothing here is aimed at a reader because of gambling habits they've shown elsewhere; the pages are the same static files for every visitor.
Links
Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only outbound links on the whole site that aren't commercial. Unlike the links to operators, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site gets nothing when a reader follows them.
The ten operator listings on this site are different: each one ends with a line telling you to check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout the site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Once you follow an operator link, you have left this site: the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply from that point, not anything published here.
Practical steps
Decide the amount you're willing to spend before you start, and treat it as already spent the moment you place it — that way a loss is the expected outcome, not a surprise to react to. Never chase a loss by increasing a stake to win it back; the urge to do that is a sign to stop for the session, not to continue. Keep gambling money separate from borrowed money, since a loss that has to be repaid on top of itself compounds the harm. Take breaks between sessions rather than playing continuously, so you keep the perspective to notice when it stops being entertainment. If that happens, involve someone else early — a friend, a family member, or one of the organisations linked above — rather than waiting until the amounts involved are harder to talk about.
